      <description>&lt;p&gt;IB Publishing produces a range of fee-covered and commercial products and services to support teachers and students of the three IB programmes worldwide. These resources are available for sale via the IB’s e-commerce platform, the IB store (43k registered customers and 26k orders processed in 2011). Publishing is a growth area for the IB, with turnover expected to increase by 14% to $4m in 2012. The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for the marketing and promotion of all publishing products and services, and the IB Publishing brand, and for maximizing sales in order to deliver a surplus to the IB. The jobholder is also responsible for compiling and delivering financial information for IB Publishing as a whole and for ensuring legal and financial compliance with requirements relating to operations undertaken through the IB UK trading subsidiary. The jobholder will: • take overall responsibility for the management of the Sales and Marketing team and budget to ensure the team meets its objectives; • take responsibility for compiling and reporting regular financial information for IB Publishing as a whole, and for ensuring IB Publishing complies with all legal and financial requirements relating to operations undertaken through the IB UK trading subsidiary; • oversee the development of the IB store to ensure it continues to meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders as well as meeting IB Publishing business and strategic goals; • oversee the development and implementation of promotional, marketing and market research plans and activities in order to maximize the profile of IB Publishing and the surplus delivered to the IB; • monitor and analyse markets, sales patterns and trends and use knowledge and expertise to identify and take advantage of opportunities to increase sales in order to increase the surplus delivered to the IB; • keep abreast of developments in the field to ensure IB Publishing sales and marketing practices continue to meet the needs and expectations of customers and the IB. Main requirements • A degree and/or a publishing or management qualification at an appropriate level; • Proven experience of managing a sales operation, preferably within a publishing environment and with an e-commerce platform; • A proven track record of identifying and developing sales and marketing opportunities and of delivering against financial targets; • Proven experience of the development of workflows and procedures and of people/team management; • Proven experience of dealing with business legal compliance work or the ability to quickly understand requirements and implement appropriate solutions; • Well developed commercial awareness and judgement; • Proven experience of working with external suppliers and of negotiating and managing contracts; • Proven project management experience; • High-level communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; • Fluency in English equivalent to native-speaker level. Qualifications from professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing or other relevant post-graduate qualifications, experience of work in an international setting and/or an educational environment, and a good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish would all be beneficial.
